Diabetes Design Initiative: Seeking Postdoctoral Candidate
The Center for Health Design (C4H.ucsd.edu) Diabetes Design Initiative (DDI.ucsd.edu) is looking for an innovative postdoctoral scholar to come change the world with us. We are working closely with leading industry partners, the UC San Diego Design Lab (designlab.ucsd.edu), Qualcomm Institute (QI.ucsd.edu) and the School of Medicine (health.ucsd.edu). Our mission is to empower people with diabetes, their providers and community through design and technology innovation.
We seek someone with experience in both data science and human computer interaction / design thinking. Experience in the healthcare domain and especially diabetes would be beneficial. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in CSE or allied fields with a strong computational background including familiarity with web development tools, Python/Jupypter notebooks and modern data science approaches. The successful candidate will also have experience in Human Centered Design, Lead-User Innovation, and a desire to apply computer and design science to people centered problems. They will also have a strong interest in collaborating with students and community members. A one year of fellowship is guaranteed with the potential for up to two years of additional funding. Other requirements include strong communication and writing skills and the ability to lead and manage projects with diverse stakeholders.
