Summer Human Centered Design Position

UCSD’s Healthy Campus Network (HCN) is looking for two design students to help rein-vision the HCN’s new website. We hope to enhance the look, usability, and efficiency of this online student resource hub. Our goal of this website is to make it a place where students can find access to all of the resources available on campus in a fun and inviting way.

This position would be for the duration of the summer, with a website completion deadline of August 30th. For your work, you may be able to receive units of FMPH 198 or 199 credit (see attachment for options and requirements) under the mentorship of Dr. Eric Heckler, or a stipend (contingent on approval, and organization funding).

1. ROLE:

  • Over the summer design position responsible for aiding in the design of the Healthy Campus Network website with two other students. Two positions are available. 


  • Responsible for 6 hours per week starting July 1st to August 26th. These meetings will focus on design elements, and human centered design concepts to collaboratively rein-vision the HCN recourse based website.
  • Must work well in teams 
  • Must be available to meet at UCSD for the duration of the design project
  • Must be able to contribute to, and spark, creative design based conversations. 
  • Responsible for conducting interviews or other qualitative work in line with basic human-centered design work, outside of the 2-hour working meetings.
