Undergraduate Research Assistants (Volunteer Internship)

The Diabetes Design Initiative ([](, at the UC San Diego Design Lab, aims to understand and facilitate the development of better technology for people with diabetes. We are looking for volunteers to work with us remotely this summer as part of the DDI team. Students will work on a variety of research and design challenges around diabetes technology. This is an unpaid volunteer internship.

This quarter’s projects will include:
  • interactive visualizations
  • T1D aging research
  • exploring new international markets
  • micro-motion interactions

This work will be conducted either in collaboration with industry partners such as Dexcom or researchers in residence. Mentors from the design lab and industry will join every week remotely to aid students in the design process.

We are encouraging applicants from all disciplines to work together on these challenging topics.
