design lab ucsd healthcare

Design at UCSD is bringing to you Design Frontiers: Healthcare, a day-long design sprint and lightning talks focusing on applying human-centered design to the field of healthcare.

We will be having speakers from biotechnology company Illumina, come talk about how design thinking has impacted and improved their healthcare/biotech product development.

After, students will engage in a design sprint, similar to a hackathon/idea-thon, where they will get a chance to work side by side with Illumina designers and engineers, and other industry professionals to think about and tackle the problems existing in the healthcare industry, and get a taste on improving the digital and physical products at Illumina.

When: Sunday, May 20th

Where: Qualcomm Room, Jacobs School of Engineering

Why:

1.You will have the opportunity to hear from professionals, including a former IDEO designer, and learn about how design thinking can be applied to the field of healthcare. You can get really hands on.

2.You will have the opportunity to network with professionals from the industry and like-minded peers.

3.You will gain valuable feedback work from professionals.

4.Free food, prizes, and cool people 🙂
