Humanity-Centered Design

In the universe of academic disciplines, we see connections instead of divisions.

Humanity-centered design at the UC San Diego Design Lab transcends disciplinary boundaries and charts new frontiers in design research, education, and practice.

Our mission is to foster design-driven transformation by educating design leaders, imagining alternative futures, and equipping people and communities with the knowledge, tools, and opportunities to address the most pressing societal challenges.

The Power of 10

Design Is...

How borders are determined, cities are laid out, transportation systems are organized, classes are taught, buildings are architected, and the hierarchy of every menu you’ve ever clicked on.
