Sasha Zabegalin:  Human-Computer Interaction, Minor in Speculative Design

Strengths: Social Technology and Emerging Technology Design – Social Media, Metaverse, AR/VR, Digital Fashion, 3D, and NFTs

I’m a multidisciplinary speculative designer/programmer and self-proclaimed social technologist interested in developing digital experiences that blur the lines between the digital and physical worlds. Essentially my main ambition is to work on evolving technology that connects people beyond a 2D surface.

Currently, I’m a fourth-year Human-Computer Interaction student minoring in Speculative Design. In the Fall of 2021, I transferred to UCSD from my Community College, American River College in Sacramento, California, where I earned two Associates Degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics.

My passion for technology, the human brain, social media, and design has fueled my interest in understanding how our brain works, how people interact with technology, and how people connect socially. Ultimately, using this knowledge, I want to know how our digital social connections can and will evolve in the future.

I am knowledgeable in programming (C#, Python, HTML, CSS), 3D software (Unity, CLO3D – Digital Fashion, Cinema 4D, Spark AR, Adobe Aero), and design (Photoshop, Figma, Webflow, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign).

Additionally, I am a walking and talking encyclopedia about emerging technologies like the Metaverse, extended reality, virtual fashion, non-fungible tokens, etc. I always enjoy conversing about each of them. If you have any interesting thoughts or want to learn more about me, emerging technologies, or how I can help you, feel free to reach out!
