SPUR: Workshop

“How might we help scale paid undergraduate research experiences.”
That’s the problem the Office of Student Affairs and Office of Research Affairs is trying to solve with The Design Lab.
During this fast-paced workshop, participants will be introduced to the process of Design Thinking. Students, faculty, and staff will collaborate to create new opportunities for paid undergraduate research projects to augment the Triton undergraduate experience. In particular, students who have yet to see themselves as researchers or who, by way of financial stressors, have to choose between a paid work experience and a non-paid research opportunity.
Participants that complete the workshop will receive a $75 gift card for the University bookstore, courtesy of The Office of Student Affairs. Each participant will also be eligible for a drawing to win an Apple iPad! We need your insights and value your contributions to make the change we want to see.
Each participant will share the problem they see, and their prototype of a potential solution. We’ll provide feedback, and introduce you to others trying to solve the same problem. Like-minded people have the option to join teams for the development phase of SPUR.
